Announcing new benefits and changes to your Mileage Plus program

To ensure that Mileage Plus continues to provide you with a valuable loyalty recognition and award program, we are announcing several new benefits and changes.

Dedicated Saver Award seats.

To provide members more flight redemption options, United has reserved a percentage of Saver Award seats on every flight to every international and U.S. domestic United destination through mid-March 2007. Saver Awards, available with some restrictions on United-operated flights and United's partner airlines, offer award travel for the fewest required miles.

New Award Chart revised. Download and print the updated version for the most up-to-date information on Mileage Plus Saver and Standard Awards.

Effective October 16, 2006, the number of miles required to redeem for many Standard and select Saver Awards will change. The domestic Economy Standard Award redemption amount will increase from 40,000 to 50,000 miles. You have until then to book and ticket at the current award mileage redemptions.

Even with these changes, our new award redemption levels remain among the lowest of other international carriers with three classes of service. Download and print the New Award Chart (48.7KB).

New policy regarding minimum flight mileage accrual

Effective for all flights flown on or after July 1, 2008, flight segments of less than 500 miles on United®, United Express®, Tedsm, Star Alliance and partner airlines will accrue the actual number of miles flown. This replaces our previous policy of a minimum mileage accrual per individual segment flown.
